That recurring theme ...

Yes, it's another super-rush job story ...

On Thursday afternoon at 3.45pm we got a call asking if we could press a large batch of T-shirts for a new plumbing company. Their guys start work on Monday morning on a contract, and needed branded T-shirts to go to work in. Within 40 minutes, we'd quoted the job, had the quote accepted, agreed delivery for Saturday late morning, and ordered the shirts and the vinyl - JUST before the 4.30pm cut-off for next day delivery.

On Friday the stock arrived and then the fun started ... the vinyl was a different brand to what we usually buy and wasn't suitable for the small text on the front of the shirts or the website on the back. It was fantastic for the large type - weeded so easily it was a dream! Not so much for the small type ... no matter how hard we tried, we could not get it to hold the text. As soon as we started weeding, all the text would just pull off the backing sheet. Aaarrrggghhh - by now it was 3am Saturday morning and the 11am deadline was looming!

At 9am I had to make a sheepish call to the customer to explain why we wouldn't have the shirts ready at 11am and to ask if we could compromise and use black vinyl for the small text. Fortunately the customer was very understanding - specially when offered a small discount for the compromise!

We delivered them this afternoon (Sunday) so the guys will have them for work tomorrow morning.

Here are the finished shirts - and they look pretty awesome, if we say so ourselves :-D
