Clothing & mug printing - personalised and custom-designed
amojo DESIGNS
We're a husband (Paolo) and wife (Mo) team who were made redundant in December 2014. As we both worked for the same company (which went into administration on December 23rd), we were up the proverbial creek ... so we decided to do our own thing and not be at the mercy of unscrupulous bosses any more.
The name 'amojo' comes from my nickname – MoJo. Unfortunately there are a lot of 'Mojo Designs' or various other permutations of Mojo, so that was out! It doesn't mean anything in particular, we just like it :-)
We started out designing and cutting the vinyl for our t-shirts and pressing mugs in
our dining room. Our living and dining room were turned into a factory of sorts,
much to the bemusement of our Westies, Pebbles (left) and Buttons (right),
who are our other two members of 'staff'. They provide entertainment and
light relief when the stress levels start rising.
We moved the business into our lovely garden office (read "shed with pretty window")
in 2017, so the living and dining rooms are back to normal, thank goodness!
We can also supply personalised jute or cotton shopping bags, cushion covers, pillow cases, aprons, tea towels, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies - pretty much any fabric item that has a space to be printed!
Where possible, our products are sent out in recycled bio-degradable envelopes or mailing bags.
Mugs are posted out in cardboard boxes which are made from recycled paper and can be further recycled.
We're constantly on the lookout for eco-friendly and responsible ways to get products from us to you.
Deliveries in and around the Bracknell area are made free of charge.
As we're both passionate about animal welfare, and in particular the plight of elephants at the mercy of poachers in Southern Africa, a percentage of our profits is donated to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in the form of sponsorship of individual baby elephants.
Take a look at our 'Ramblings' page for blog entries about MWASHOTI - the baby elephant with the blue foot - the first orphan we fostered through DSWT.
There are also a couple of entries (including a video) about our second foster baby, SIMOTUA, who was speared in the head and trapped in a snare. Sadly little Simotua didn't make it ... he succumbed to an infection in the snare wound in his leg,
inflicted by scum-of-the-earth poachers. I cried all day when we got the news in March 2016 that he'd passed on.
We added GODOMA, a little female calf, to our herd in October 2015. More about Godoma on our 'Ramblings' page.
MARAMOJA joined us in September 2016, bringing our herd back up to three babies.
Her adoption certificate can also be seen in 'Ramblings'.
All three babies appear to be thriving and growing at a rate of knots! They're no longer tiny, defenseless little creatures, but strong adolescent elephants now. We're proud to be a tiny part of their lives.
Please donate generously to the trust and tell 'em Amojo Designs sent you!
